Coffee with George

I tried the new hazelnut iced coffee at McDonald’s today after a friend recommended it yesterday. It’s good, and at $2.00 for a 32 ounce coffee drink, it’s a bargain, which is a good thing because I dumped about 29 of the first 32 ounces into the floor of my now damp and hazelnut-scented car. I still prefer Dunkin Donuts’ hot coffee, but today’s iced coffee definitely beats out DD’s.
Not only should I thank my friend for the suggestion, my change from McDonald’s introduced a new hobby. It’s called “Georging,” and you can read all about it at Where’s George. You enter the serial numbers from bills that pass through your hands, and then you track where your money ends up. I think it would make a great project for an elementary age class. The class could enter its combined lunch money, and over the course of the year add push pins to a map when their bills pop back up on the website. They could study the region their bills traveled to or even correspond with the person who entered their bills back into the system. The bills that introduced me to the site were stamped with this stamp. I sort of want one, which makes me feel like a big nerd.

The best iced coffee: Broadway (not Fountain City) McDonald’s. Four times, hazelnut, hasn’t let me down yet; in fact, it gets better every time!
