Old married people on Valentine’s Day

You know you’ve been married forever when you have this conversation on Valentine’s Day:

Husband: There’s a little surprise for you in the kitchen.

Wife: Really? Wow! Oh, wait, are you saying the cat threw up in there?

In our defense, we celebrated last weekend to avoid the rush and catch our babysitters when they weren’t busy, and he was not talking about cat puke. It was a bowl of a very nostalgic candy. Tulip loved the story of how Mommy and Daddy used to exchange little heart message candies. We aren’t quite as lacking in romance as we sound.
